A special welcome to, each and every one of you, to our website! There are so many exciting things happening within our church that we decided to launch our own website so that we could share them with you.
When we gather as a church family, we are called into a relationship with God and with each other. It is a real joy to serve at Westbrook where the congregation is reaching out to the community to be a presence in a relationship with our neighbours and with each other. This church has Worship every Sunday with a lively choir. We enjoy an active United Church Women’s group. There is a Clothing Depot, open every Thursday 9-3, Friday and Saturday 10-3 , Yoga Mondays 930-1030, Tuesday 5-6 & Fridays 930-1030, Euchre Monday 7-9 & Wednesday 1-3, and a Farmers' Market Wednesdays 2-6 Spring to Fall. The Church hall is available to the community for rentals.
It is difficult to be a church in our society today, knowing the importance of reaching out to the community, being a presence to that community, and always working to become more relevant to the community. The Church of Jesus Christ is not the Centre of society today.
This is a challenge!
The congregation at Westbrook has done some serious soul searching and continues to be faithful followers of Christ, to work to understand what the church could look like as we keep moving forward. It is always difficult to see change, this church is continually working with all of the elements of growth and remaining faithful to the One who calls us. The journey of faith, behind us, before us, and around us is enriched by the love that we share as a congregation.
Come and see, we look forward to meeting you, as you come in and share in this journey of life. We invite you to share in the faith that only comes from honest doubts and heartfelt searching.
Our Mission Statement
By our actions our purpose is to spread the teachings and good news of Jesus Christ continually throughout the congregation, the community and the world.
What We Believe
Our beliefs are described on the United Church of Canada's website at the following link.
Since time immemorial, First People's lives and spirituality have been deeply connected to this land.
We acknowledge the Algonquin and Mohawk peoples, whose territories we live on. We acknowledge and give thanks for their stewardship.
May we live with respect and gratitude, on this land!
